Bhavanesh Parbhoo currently manages the Social Employment Fund via the IDC. The Fund is setup to create employment for at least 50,000 unemployed workers within the Social and Solidarity Economy in areas such as community health, food security, placemaking, greening, etc. Prior to this, Bhavanesh worked as a Dealmaker within the IDC’s Media & Audio-Visual team where he looked specifically at digital media applications in gaming, AR / VR and general tech-based media. He has a deep interest in Social and Solidarity Economy, having worked as a professional volunteer for +20 years. Bhavanesh is a Chartered Accountant by profession and holds an MBA from the University of Pretoria.
