He was a British Member of Parliament for 14 years , and spent nine years in government as a Minister . He was Britain’s longest-serving Minister for Civil Society, where he developed a world-leading programme of social impact investment. As Minister for Climate Change and Industry, he was responsible for UK carbon budgets, climate finance and the UK Green Growth strategy.
Nick has a substantial business background spanning over 18 years, which included the setting up of an investment banking business in Brazil. His current work focuses on mobilising private capital in support of the SDGs and the transition to Net Zero. He chairs the Impact Taskforce, set up under the G7; the GSG global organisation supporting investment for impact , the Access Foundation for social investment and the (i)x Net Zero investment company. He is a senior adviser to Bboxx , Systemiq and FMA .
