Yvonne Chalwe Mpala is a Co-Founder and COO of wCap Limited, a Zambia-based private credit investment firm providing capital solutions to early-stage and high-growth SMEs across Southern Africa. She believes that diversity drives return and is committed to building portfolios that reflect the full breadth of the market — a conviction that shapes how wCap is built and how it invests. With over 20 years of experience spanning commercial banking, enterprise development, and corporate governance, Yvonne has played a key role in building wCap into a regulated, impact-driven investment platform since its founding in 2020. Prior to wCap, she held senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank Zambia, where she led governance, transformation, and portfolio management initiatives. She currently serves on investment committees across the region, contributing to fund management, governance oversight, ESG integration, risk management, and investment decision-making. Yvonne holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Malone University, USA, and is a member of Women in African Investments, 2X Global Ignite, the Capital Markets Association of Zambia, and the Institute of Risk Management South Africa.
