Jerry Parkes is the CEO and co-founder of Injaro Investments Limited (Injaro). He is passionate about building multi-generational African businesses and achieving job-based economic growth in Africa through developing partnerships, businesses and people. Three years after graduating from business school, he returned to West Africa and co-founded Injaro Investments with an Ivorian classmate with the vision of growing impactful SMEs and contributing to more dynamic local capital markets. During his Injaro journey, he has advised entrepreneurs on business development and groomed several investment professionals who now serve in senior roles at leading investment firms across Africa.
Under his leadership, Injaro has built a reputation as one of the leading agribusiness private capital investors in Africa. The firm has secured mandates to manage Injaro Agricultural Capital Holdings Limited (IACHL), a US$50m fund; to serve as investment advisor to the Agribusiness Capital (ABC) Fund, a €200 million fund and; to manage the Injaro Ghana Venture Capital Fund (IGVCF), the first PE fund in Ghana to be anchored by local private pension funds. Since inception in 2009, Injaro has made over US$60 million of investments in African SMEs which have benefited over 3 million people.
Jerry serves on the boards of Advancing Women in Investments (AWI) and the Ghana Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (GVCA). He holds a MEng. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with French from the University of Manchester and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
