Julius Lamptey is a seasoned development professional with over 15 years of experience across research, policy advocacy, SME development, trade facilitation, and industry-academia collaboration. His career is anchored in a strong commitment to translating evidence into action and promoting inclusive, innovation-led growth. As Senior Research and Policy Officer at Impact Investing Ghana, he leads impactful research initiatives and builds strategic collaborations that create pathways for sustainable financing and private sector development. He also serves as the Secretariat Lead for the Ghana Research and Industry Collaborative (GRIC), where he champions research uptake and commercialisation by fostering cross-sectoral collaborations that translate academic findings into market-ready innovations.

Previously, Julius served as Head of Research and Advocacy at the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI). There, he played a key role in designing and implementing flagship initiatives, including the GNCCI-DBG Business Skills Development Programme, which equipped over 500 SMEs with the competencies needed to access long-term financing. His advocacy efforts contributed to streamlining Ghana’s duty drawback process, improving transparency and operational efficiency. He also coordinated the MSME Digital Skills Training Programme in Ghana, under the ACP-EU programme with Expertise France, and supported export development through the AGOA Trade Resource Centre, in collaboration with USAID’s West Africa Trade and Investment Hub, contributing to agro-industrial profiling and regional value chain development.

In the early stages of his career, Julius worked as a teaching and research assistant, contributing to a range of local and international research projects while supporting teaching activities. He holds an MA in Labour Policies and Globalisation from the University of Kassel and the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Germany), a BA in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), and a Higher Education Certificate in Business Administration from the Accra Business School. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants. Julius is a thoughtful strategist and committed change agent who bridges research, policy and practice to drive innovation and deliver evidence-based, results-driven development across sectors.
