Kwami was born and raised in Ghana and immigrated to the United States in 2000. His passion for science and infatuation with flight led him to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering at MIT and to intern with NASA. He first returned to Ghana in 2010 on a service trip to Northern Ghana. His encounter with rural poverty there led him to restructure his Aerospace Engineering degree and create the first Global Development concentration in the MIT AeroAstro department. Since graduating from MIT in 2012, he’s gone from aerospace to agriculture to co-found and lead a collaborative of for-profit social enterprises (True Moringa, True Farms) and nonprofits (True Farmer LBG and True Foundry LBG); all on a mission to create 100,000 dignified jobs by 2040. He is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Award Recipient, Quartz Top 30 Africa Innovator, Builder of Africa Awardee, Echoing Green Fellow, MIT D-Lab Scale-Ups Fellow, and MassChallenge Alumnus. Kwami is married and is a proud girl dad to three wonderful daughters.
