Richard Brandt is the founder of Codetrain Africa, Software Engineering and Design School with a mission to empower Africa’s brightest minds to thrive in the global tech industry. With over 700 developers trained and an impressive 89% placement rate, Richard has transformed Codetrain into a talent hub connecting African youth with meaningful opportunities worldwide. Inspired by his experiences across South America, the United States, and Europe, he saw Africa’s immense creative potential and global tech’s demand for skilled professionals—a gap he was determined to bridge.

Richard’s impact and leadership have been recognised globally. A former winner of the World Youth Summit Award for innovations in maternal health, he was also named one of the 100 top innovators by the 2014 Startup Chile program. Honoured as one of Ghana’s Top 50 most influential youth leaders in 2019, Richard is a dedicated mentor, guiding startups through the Ashesi Venture Incubator and Austria’s Moonshot Pirates programs.
