Entry requirements vary by nationality. Zambia offers visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival, and e-visa options depending on your country of origin.

The main entry point is Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka, located approximately 30 – 40 minutes from the city centre and major hotels, including Ciela Resort & Spa.

Transport options include:

  • Hotel airport transfers (recommended)
  • Registered taxis and ride-hailing services (e.g., Yango, Ulendo)
  • Car hire services

The official currency in Zambia is the Zambian Kwacha. If you need to use an ATM, both Visa and Master Card work.

The official language of Zambia is English, and it is widely used in business, government, and daily communication, particularly in Lusaka.

In addition, Zambia is home to 73 tribes spoken across regions.

Zambia operates on Central Africa Time (CAT), which is GMT+2.

Visitors are encouraged to obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel.

Lusaka has access to high-quality medical facilities. Travellers should consult their healthcare provider regarding:

  • Routine vaccinations
  • Malaria prevention (especially if travelling beyond Lusaka)

Zambia is generally safe and welcoming; however, standard travel precautions are advised.

In June, Lusaka experiences cool and dry weather, with temperatures typically ranging between 10°C (night) and 22–25°C (day).

Light jackets or warm layers are recommended, particularly for mornings and evenings.

Zambia uses Type G (British 3-pin) sockets, with additional Type C and D in some locations.

  • Use reusable alternatives where possible
