Speaker Bio

Yushi Nagano is a seasoned development professional at JICA, with prior experience at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He has been engaged in large-scale public and private infrastructure investments, ESG-related business, digital transformation, and industry strategy and reform initiatives in partner countries. At JICA, he has initiated several flagship programmes in the areas of innovative finance, sustainability, and AI. In his current role, Yushi leads JICA’s Sub-Saharan sovereign portfolio with annual commitments of USD 2–3 billion across infrastructure, water, agriculture, healthcare, and education. A recognised thought leader in development, he is an invited speaker at major global platforms including the UN-COP, Responsible Investor Forum, 2X Global, and AI Summit. He holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
